Privacy policy
This policy explains what personal data is processed when you visit layoutlabprints.com (the "site") or contact LayoutLab. It is written to meet the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
1. Who is responsible
LayoutLab, Utrecht, the Netherlands, is the controller for the processing described here. Contact: hello@layoutlabprints.com.
2. Cookies and your browser
This site does not use cookies, advertising trackers or social media plugins. Fonts, scripts and images are served from this site itself, so your browser does not contact Google Fonts or other third parties when you load a page. The only thing the site may store in your browser is your answer to the statistics notice (in local storage), so it does not ask again on every page.
3. Visitor statistics (only with your permission)
If you choose “Allow counting” in the statistics notice, this site counts page views with GoatCounter, a privacy-friendly service from the Netherlands that does not use cookies and does not build profiles. It records the page, the referring website, the screen size, the browser and the country derived from your IP address; the IP address itself is not stored. The legal basis is your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR). You can change your choice at any time with “Statistics settings” at the bottom of every page. If you choose “Don’t count” or make no choice, nothing is counted.
4. Hosting and server logs
The site is hosted by Netlify, Inc. (United States). When you load a page, Netlify's servers receive technical data that every web request contains, such as your IP address, the page requested, the date and time, and your browser type. Netlify uses this data to deliver the site and to protect it against abuse. LayoutLab does not use it to identify or profile visitors. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in running a secure website (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). Netlify processes this data under its data processing agreement, and transfers to the United States are covered by the safeguards described in Netlify's privacy policy.
5. Contact form and email
If you use the contact form, your name, email address, topic, optional Etsy order number and message are sent to Netlify, which stores the submission for LayoutLab and checks it for spam. If you email LayoutLab directly, your email address and message are used the same way. This data is used only to answer you. Messages are kept for as long as needed to handle your question, and for at most two years after the last contact unless a longer period is required by law (for example for tax records related to an order). The legal basis is our legitimate interest in answering questions, or the performance of a contract if your question is about an order.
6. Purchases on Etsy
Products are not sold on this site. When you follow a link to Etsy and buy something there, Etsy processes your data under its own privacy policy. As the seller, LayoutLab receives the order details Etsy shares with sellers (such as your name, Etsy username, email address and what you bought) and uses them only to deliver your order, answer questions and meet legal obligations such as bookkeeping. Bookkeeping records are kept for seven years, as required by Dutch tax law.
7. Links to other websites
This site links to Etsy and Pinterest. Those websites have their own privacy policies, and LayoutLab is not responsible for how they handle your data.
8. Your rights
You have the right to access, correct or delete your personal data, to restrict or object to its processing, to withdraw consent, and to data portability. To use these rights, email hello@layoutlabprints.com. You will get an answer within one month. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.
9. Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be published on this page with a new date at the top.
